about Hannah
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
You are wanted, welcome, and needed! Seeking therapeutic support is one of the most courageous things anyone can do. The need to be seen, heard, understood, and valued is a fundamental component of being human. Often shame, confusion, feelings of helplessness, or a sense of immobilization inhibit us from allowing ourselves to have this innate need met. Congratulations on starting the process of honoring who you are!
My name is Hannah Schweizer, and I’m a Board Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and EMDR Therapist. I received a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Boston University, and completed post-graduate training in EMDR, CBT, CBT-P, ACT, DBT, MI, Contemporary Psychoanalysis, Risk Assessment, Crisis De-escalation, and a variety of Trauma Informed approaches. In addition, I am privileged to have had training in Gottman Couples Therapy, which is the only evidence-based couples therapy currently available. My specialties include treatment of mental health disorder, trauma, eating disorders, and relational dynamics. I consider myself a culturally responsive, holistic and multi-modal practitioner in that I work with you to find and curate modalities specific to your unique set of needs while honoring your individuality and identity. My passion lies in working with adults and families from a person-centered strengths-based perspective. You are the expert on yourself!
My role is to provide a safe, and non-judgmental environment as we work together to explore the concerns leading you to seek treatment. Together, with compassion, we will gently unearth the strategies that no longer serve you, and find space for new strategies and skills to help you accomplish your goals. The modalities I’ll introduce in session will be informed by your individual needs. It’s not uncommon to hear laughter or witness an occasional dance move from my office. All parts of you are welcome! I look forward to working with, and learning about you!
Please call (619) 330-9500 or email intake@goodtherapysandiego.com to get scheduled with me or another therapist at GTSD!

"Hannah S. is hands down the best therapist I have ever been to, and there have been many. It is a relief to have finally found a mental health professional that is the right fit for me. Hannah is compassionate, a great listener, warm, and always provides an insightful perspective with scientific studies to back up findings. Since I have been in Hannah's care, I have grown tremendously and have truly felt supported throughout my healing journey. It is refreshing to actually look forward to my sessions and feel that progress has been made. I cannot recommend Hannah S. enough. Aside from being a fantastic therapist, she is an overall genuinely wonderful person. Thank you for everything!"
