about Julianne
“Everyone carries a shadow, and the less it is embodied in the individual’s conscious life, the blacker and denser it is…”
~ Carl Jung
Hello and welcome. I’m glad that you are here and have taken a step towards healing. My name is Julianne Eggold. I have long been on a journey to find meaning and joy in my own life, and I have found it now in this work by simply sitting across from another person connecting, reflecting, and holding space for another to find ways to return to their authentic self.
Most of my life I have explored the arts in filmmaking, acting, music and storytelling. My love of observing the human experience and storytelling in the arts, became my love of connecting with others and their own life stories in therapy.
We all develop masks over time, for our partners, our families, our boss’ and for ourselves. Some of this protection has served us well, and some we are ready to change. I believe that it is never too late to rewrite the story of our lives, change the plot, the characters and even the lead character, ourselves.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Sonoma State University and a Master of Social Work from San Diego State University. I finding meaning in ones own life. As a matter of fact, I have made an award-winning film on this topic called “The Finding Papa Movie,” which can be seen currently on YouTube TV and Tubi.
I blend evidence-based practices including:
- Narrative Therapy
- Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Internal Family Systems (IFS)
- Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT)
- Mindfulness Techniques
- Motivational Interviewing (MI)
- & holistic modalities as I am a certified reiki master, sound healer and somatic therapist.
I am dedicated to providing culturally sensitive therapy to diverse populations, understanding that every person is a human being with their own unique and rich tapestry of life.
My heart and focus lie with those who struggle with:
- Major life transitions
- Relationship issues
- Grief and loss
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Trauma
- Attachment issues
- Dependency struggles
- and more
I also enjoy working with couples in healthy communication, and with individuals navigating relationships. I would be honored to work with you in finding a deeper meaning and a deeper love for life and self that can be realized.
I believe nature is the world’s best healing, so outside of the office I can often be found hiking through a canyon or walking along the beautiful ocean. And I have my “emotional support animal,” Stinkers, a sweet elder kitty. Life is good.
