What society so often pathologizes is a normal human reaction to a highly unpredictable and ever-changing world. Let me help you navigate that world.
Mental health is central to our overall well-being. It impacts our relationships, careers, daily functioning, and even our physical health (trauma has entered the chat). Socially, we haven’t always been encouraged to prioritize our own mental health needs. Whether you are seeking help for the first time, or have been on a lifelong journey of healing, I am here to support you.
Hello, my name is Heather, and I am first a fellow-human and a practitioner second! This means that I will implement a humanistic and person-centered approach as your therapist. We all have our challenges (family, anyone?) and life is good at throwing us curveballs. While it’s sometimes true that you can manage it all on your own, you simply don’t have to. Why scrape by when you can thrive? This is where therapy comes in- to help you differentiate the forest from the trees and find the inner clarity you are seeking.
My specialties include:
Holding a master’s in marriage & family therapy from California Professional School of Psychology and a bachelor’s in psychological science from CSUSM, I am fortunate to have found a career that aligns with my lifelong interest in the human psyche and passion for understanding the nature of human relationships.
With an emphasis on relational dynamics, I balance empathy, warmth, compassion (and occasional humor) with honesty and a direct communication style. I believe the therapeutic alliance is a crucial component in creating the catalyst for change and therefore provide all of my clients with unwavering support.
I am passionate about working with children, teens, individual adults, couples, and families. I bring in-depth experience helping clients work through anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, loss, and other major life transitions, such as divorce and medical illness. I am compassionate and understand it takes courage to seek therapy. I create a safe space for clients to navigate challenges and build a sense of autonomy. No matter what challenges you may be facing, I would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey.
