about MUSHKAN
“The wound is the place where the Light enters you.” — Rumi
Hi there, my name is Mushkan, and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) at Good Therapy San Diego. I believe therapy is a collaborative and deeply personal process rooted in curiosity, compassion, and courage. My goal is to create a space where you can feel safe enough to explore the parts of yourself that have felt unseen and to begin rewriting the stories that have kept you small.
I have experience working with children, adults, and couples, and am particularly passionate about supporting clients through intimacy and relationship challenges, trauma and cultural trauma, and questions of identity and belonging. I see therapy as a space to honor both your pain and your potential to understand how your experiences have shaped you while discovering new possibilities for connection, meaning, and growth.
I work with various presenting problems, including:
- Cultural and intergenerational trauma
- Identity exploration
- Family and attachment concerns
- Life transitions
- Trauma
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Relationship issues and intimacy challenges
To do so, I draw from evidence-based therapeutic methods including:
- Narrative Therapy
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
- Gottman Couples Therapy
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
- Somatic approaches
- Play Therapy
- Attachment-focused modalities
I am trained in both Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Gottman Couples Therapy, which are a few of the only evidence-based couples therapies available. I am guided by the belief that healing happens through secure, authentic connection both within ourselves and with others. My work is grounded in cultural humility and curiosity, and I strive to meet every client exactly where they are, honoring the unique contexts and stories that shape who they are today.
I received my Bachelor of Arts from Stony Brook University in New York and my Master of Arts in Marital and Family Therapy from the California School of Professional Psychology.
Outside of therapy, I find joy in reading, cooking, and baking and as someone who has lived in several different countries, I carry a deep appreciation for the diversity and resilience of the human experience.
Wherever you are in your journey, you don’t have to walk it alone. I would be honored to walk alongside you as you move toward healing, connection, and the life you want to create.
